Journaling Week 4

Here’s what’s going on in my art journal this week!💕✨Hope you all enjoy a peak at my most recent pages. While journaling this week, I’ve been thinking a lot about Romans 12 and especially the first few verses of that chapter. Thinking of the verse that talks about not being conformed to this world but being transformed by the renewing of our minds. I realized that being conformed to this world doesn’t just mean letting the world influence the way you dress or talk but how you think and what you pursue in your mind. So many things that the world says should be sought after to bring the highest forms of joy and fulfillment are usually so far from what Gods word says to seek after. Even when they’re not bad in and of themselves. I could see how my mind was being conformed to the world in that I was dwelling more on things that the world called good as my ultimate goals in life and not on what the Lord calls good. I’ve been finding it helpful to write down what the world says about different things in life and countering it with God’s Word on those subjects. It’s been a way that has helped me to put into practice the commandment to renew my mind,💕✨Re-setting my mind to want what God calls excellent.👏🏻🙌🏻

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.Romans 12:1-2

THANK YOU for this thought-provoking reminder, Ruth!! “So many things that the world says should be sought after to bring the highest forms of joy and fulfillment are usually so far from what Gods word says to seek after.” This made me think about that beautiful passage from John 15 that you shared today…“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.”🧡 He TRULY gives us full JOY, beyond anything that the world tries to allure us with. Thank you again for this reminder, and encouragement to be “Re-setting my mind to want what God calls excellent.”🙌🏻💕

And RUTH, this week’s journal entry is SO BEAUTIFUL!!!✨ Keep it up!!!👏🏻
